Zap Energy is currently looking for a hands-on self-motivated Technician with experience working on a variety of mechanical and electrical / electronic systems. Working with our scientific and technical staff, the Technician will assist technical staff in the assembly and maintenance of Zap Energy experimental fluid flow, high-vacuum, and high-voltage pulsed-power systems. The ideal candidate is an organized, inventive problem solver, capable of working through technical challenges and employing sound, pragmatic solutions through team efforts. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Assist scientific and engineering staff with the fabrication, construction, operation, maintenance and repair of experimental fluid flow, high-vacuum, and high-voltage pulsed-power systems
General equipment maintenance
Inventory management (maintaining stocks of supplies, vendor lists, etc.)
Assist in experimental operations
Required Qualifications and Skills:
2-5+ years experience as an electrical/mechanical Technician
Experience with electronics, mechanical assembly, AC electrical power
Experience with hand and machine tools
Experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical devices
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Associate’s Degree in an Engineering or Scientific discipline
Experience with CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks)
